A Web site is a presence on the world wide web. All web sites contain a home page which is the first page that you would see when you arrive at the site. A web site will almost certainly contain more pages other than the home page, these are usualy accessable by clicking on an area on the screen, called a link, that will then take you to another page. There are some web sites that get several million visits a month, but the most popular web site ever was the Olympics 2000 web site when the Olympics was held in Sydney. In the three weeks that the event took place the web site had 9 billion hits from around the world.
