HSDPA
HSDPA or, High-Speed Downlink Packet Access to give it its full name is a 3G mobile communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, which allows networks based on (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 1.8MBPS, 3.6MBPS, 7.2MBPS and 14.4 MBPS. In the near future these speeds should increase greatly. The networks are then to be upgraded to Evolved HSPA, which provides speeds of 42MBPS downlink in its first release.
